High-gain "Stratosphere" feed for Western Washington. Located at 600ft MSL near WOODI, this station captures the first contact for aircraft approaching from Wenatchee, Yakima, Vancouver BC, and the Coast. I've heard clear aircraft transmissions on this feed from aircraft over 160 nmi away (west of Astoria, OR).
Listening to this feed pairs well with my KSEA 50 mile to tarmac feed to follow flights in/out of Seattle throughout the western Washington region. By listening with this Stratosphere & Enroute feed, you will hear a lot of the commercial aircrat / ATC transmissions within a 100 mile+ range of Seattle on the sectors outlined below.
Active Frequencies Covered:
132.950 – Chinook High (Cascade Crossing corridor)
