Anne Arundel Fire Department

The vision is that Anne Arundel County will be the safest large jurisdiction in Maryland; that the citizens will be protected from criminals, fires, medical emergencies and disasters of all types, both natural and man-made; that the citizens will be supported if they are victims of crime, emergencies or disasters; and that the Anne Arundel County Fire Department (AACFD) will assist other jurisdictions in their efforts to improve public safety.

City of Annapolis Fire Department

The Annapolis Fire Department (AFD) exists to provide a safe environment for the community by minimizing the impact of fire and injury through public education, quality service, emergency preparedness and an overall culture of safety.

Working Incidents/Feed Alert/Status Updates

Talkgroups are used quite frequently, so all talkgroups will remain in scan mode, even during regularly dispatched incidents. The only exception is when there is a major incident (e.g. multi-alarm fire), in which a status update will be posted and the talkgroup may be locked on for the duration of the incident.

Abbreviations will be used during status updates to provide as much information as possible with limited characters. The following list will be commonly used abbreviations in status updates.

FORMAT: [TALKGROUP ALPHA TAG] | [BOX #] | [TYPE] | [LOCATION] | [DETAILS] | [TIME]

SAMPLE FEED ALERT: 1 ECHO | #23-02 | RESCUE | 800 BLK RITCHIE HWY | HVY ENTRAP INV SCHOOL BUS; MULTI VICTIMS; MSP TROOPER RQST | 16:04HRS 05/18/2017
