22-80 thru 22-89: 22-80 or 22-8-zero is the western most unit on Highway 80 in Solano County. The higher the callsign number (22-81, 22-84, 22-87, etc...) the farther east on Highway 80 is the patrol officer. 22-89 would be the eastern most unit on Highway 80 in Solano County.
22-7-7 is generally assigned to Highway 780 in Solano County.
22-122 is generally assigned to Highway 12 in Solano County.
21 units are assigned to Napa CHP.
34 units are assigned to Marin CHP.
127 units are assigned to the Cordelia Inspection Facility (Highway 80 scales).

Days units are day shift patrol - 6:00am to 2:00pm. A shift designator is sometimes added to the day shift callsign as in “22-84 Days”.
Swings or Boy units are swing shift patrol - 2:00pm to 10:00pm. A shift designator is sometimes added to swing shift callsign as in “22-88 Swings” or “22-88 Boy”.
Graves or Charles units are night shift (graveyard) patrol - 10:00pm to 6:00am. A shift designator is sometimes added to night shift callsign as in “22-86 Graves” or “22-86 Charles”.

Channel 2 is 42.600 simplex for car to car radio traffic. Ch 2 does not use a repeater. When Ch 2 is used the listener will only hear this radio traffic when units are close to this scanner receiver.
Night shifts may not have as many patrol vehicles on the road as day shift so the night shift beat could be larger then the day shift beat, etc...
Patrol units are responsible for traffic issues in the unincorporated areas of Solano County as well as the highways.
