South Metro Fire Rescue ARFF responds on this talkgroup with Airport Operations personnel for all aircraft emergencies, medical and fire incidents. Snow removal and other general operational communication between the control tower and ground personnel also occurs on this talk group.

"Port" Units are Airport Operations personnel. Port 5 is on-duty 24/7 and the primary radio contact. Lower number Port unit numbers represent higher ranking airport officials.

SMFR Alert Levels 

 Air Alert 1 • Advisement • Aircraft reports a non-emergency mechanical problem. 

  • No SMFR response necessary 

 Air Alert 2 • Emergency Standby • Aircraft reports an emergency mechanical problem. 

  • Port 5, 3 "Red" ARFF Units, 1 Medic Unit, 1 Chief Officer and 1 Safety Officer Respond  

 Air Alert 3 • Emergency • Aircraft Crash (or crash imminent), aircraft off the runway or on fire. 

  • Port 5, 3 "Red" ARFF Units, 2 Engines, 2 Medic Units, 2 Chief Officers, 1 Safety Officer, 1 EMS Officer Respond.
