Feed Notes

The Buffalo Line is Norfolk Southern's mainline north out of Harrisburg, PA. The single track line runs north out of Harrisburg along the Susquehanna River to Sunbury, PA where the line junctions with the Norfolk Southern Sunbury Line at Kase. At Kase, the Buffalo Line continues north to Northumberland and Lock Haven, PA while the Sunbury Line branches off to the right to head north to Wilkes-Barre, PA and eventually Binghamton, NY. The Buffalo Line sees daily manifest freights along with the occasional coal train to/from the RJ Corman at Keating, PA and occasional gypsum train to/from the Strawberry Ridge power plant at Strawberry Ridge, PA. The line has numerous passing sidings along its entire length and a small yard in Northumberland plays host to several local freights and a freight from the North Shore Railroad.

Feed radio is a Motorola Spectra scanning two frequencies, AAR 50, Priority 1 and AAR 91, Priority 2.  Antenna is a Kreco Folded Ground Plane FGP-155A mounted on a 45' tower at the top in the heart of Sunbury, PA.  HP desktop, OS Windows 10 with an APC Pro 1000 UPS for backup.

Feed is useful in following north bound trains out of Harrisburg, PA north onto NS Sunbury line enrout to Binghamton, NY.  Trains will get their track authorities on AAR 50 around Boyles and then proceed on to the Sunbuty line.  After hearing the 747.1 detector, most listeners will switch feeds to the NS Sunbury Line feed.  That feed can be found here:  https://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/14648
